Creative Compass network launches in August 2010
The Institute for Russia and Eastern Europe (Helsinki) in the framework of the Creative Compass project is launching an online network for the key players in Finland and Russia's creative industries who are interested in cooperation and exchange of knowledge. The website will open by autumn 2010.
Upon registration to the platform members can set an individual company profile, access the profiles of other registered members, and get newsfeed from an event calendar where members can post current projects, events or seek partners for future business. In Finland, the creative industries contribute approximately 4% of national GDP while in Russia the figure approaches 6%. By closer cooperation and exchange of knowledge and know-how, the two countries can strengthen their cultural sectors that play an important role in economic growth and the preservation of cultural tradition and national identity.
The platform is mainly targeted for following industries:
The platform is secure and all information is protected under the Finnish Act on the Protection of Privacy in Electronic Communications.
If you are interested in including your company profile in the Creative Compass online network, please provide the information in the following online form here.
The Creative Compass project is funded by Finland's Ministry for Foreign Affairs and will run for 28 months during 2009-2011. The project seeks to identify parties in Finland and Russia's creative industries who are interested in cooperation and promotes mutual learning and the exchange of experiences by organizing seminars and practical workshops to discuss activities and developmental opportunities in the creative industries of both countries. The project is implemented in the cooperation with the Institute for Cultural Programs in St. Petersburg.
